01. The placements we sell

Three formats, filed at fixed rates. Each is a dispatch in itself: a listing, a written explainer, or a run of sponsor credits across an audio series.

02. How a placement gets filed

From first message to the piece going live, the same four steps apply to every format on the rate card.

  1. STEP 01

You tell us the placement and the dates

A short message through the form below is enough: which of the three formats, and roughly when you'd like it to run.

  2. STEP 02

We confirm scope and collect materials

We reply within one business day with a confirmation, a short brief for your input, and a list of what we need from you (see the documents panel below).

  3. STEP 03

The piece is drafted and reviewed with you

Listings go live as filed; explainer articles and sponsor credits include a review pass before anything publishes or airs.

  4. STEP 04

It runs, and you get a summary

Each format includes a readership or listening report at the end of its run, on the schedule described on the rate card.

03. How we keep the rate card honest

We don't promise sales or traffic figures. What we can promise is a consistent process, applied the same way to every advertiser on the wire.

One brief format, every time

The same intake questions apply whether you're booking a $140 listing or the quarterly sponsorship, so nothing depends on who happens to answer the phone.

Editorial and advertising stay separate

Partner articles are always labelled as partner content. Our news coverage is never written, edited or spiked to suit an advertiser.

One review pass, no surprise edits

You see the explainer article or the sponsor-credit script before it goes live, with one revision round built into the price.

A report at the end, not a promise up front

Page views, link visits, listens or completion rates are reported after the run — described in plain terms, never dressed up as a guarantee.

05. Where the wire runs

Ferngrove Wire covers Calgary and southern Alberta. Our listings, articles and audio series are read and heard by people connected to these areas:

  • The Beltline
  • Inglewood
  • Bowness
  • The Bow River pathways
  • Okotoks and the foothills

If your business or organization sits outside these areas but still serves southern Alberta, mention it when you get in touch — we can usually still place you.

06. What we need from you

Whichever format you book, a short list of materials keeps the process quick.

For a listing

Your business or organization name, a short description, a logo file, an address or service area, and a contact link.

For a partner explainer

The facts you want covered, any figures or dates that need to be accurate, and a contact person for fact-checking before publication.

For the audio series sponsorship

Your sponsor-credit wording (or a starting point for us to draft), a logo for show-note credit, and the quarter you'd like to run in.

For all three

A contact name and a working email or phone number, so we can send the confirmation and the end-of-run report.

07. How each edition goes out

1

Reporting and recording

Local stories are reported and podcast episodes are recorded on a weekly schedule.

2

Editing

Written pieces and audio episodes go through an internal edit before anything is scheduled.

3

Placement insertion

Booked listings, explainers and sponsor credits are slotted into the relevant edition or episode.

4

Publication and reporting

The edition goes live, and the agreed report follows on the schedule stated for that format.

More detail on each format is on the advertising page.

08. A short glossary

Dispatch
Our word for any published piece — a listing, an article or an episode — filed under a dateline.
